I just noticed this the last few days, my odometer isn't moving.
I mean it does but not all the time, like this morning I couldn't get it to move and it happened last week too, again it was the morning after a cold night.
That time I stopped the car and started again but nothing, I kept resetting the meter below and hitting the dash a few times and then it started ticking, I had probably lost 4 miles or so that time.

I'm going to leave work in an hour, will see if it moves as it should then, today I lost 10 miles going to work, if this keeps up my odometer will be severly incorrect and it'll play merry hell with oil changes.

 

Oh, I may have misread this. I read your post as if it were about the trip odometer versus the regular odometer.

Under FAQ there is a sticky thread that explains the problem and the fix.

Two plastic tabs hold in the trip odometer. They get old and break.

 

Actually, it's both odometers
