Oil pressure gauge dead?

hey, my brothers firebird's (89 V6) oil pressure gauge is basically dead, reading zero, but theres still oil pressure obviously because the car still runs.... but the gauge is either dead, or the oil sending unit has a problem... so how can i tell whats wrong, and how do you fix this thing? anyone else have this problem?

Mach,

I'll put a small wager on the sender or its wiring. They are often the cause of this kind of problem. About $25.00 and the problem should be solved. Before you get a new sensor, check the electrical connector at the sensor first to make sure is is plugged in. You can ground the tan wire at the sensor and the gauge should read fuill scale, just to make sure tha gauge is working.

Tell you're brother he's welcome - PEACE!
