valve spring question

hi to all i want to know about my valve springs being up to the task i was told they are not and i will encounter float(i really dont wanna find out the hard way)

cam i have, voodoo 268 size
specs:
Advertised Duration : 268° /276°
Duration @ .050 IN/EX : 227° /233°
Gross Valve lift IN/EX .489''/.504''
LSA and ICL 110/106
RPM Range: 1800-6200

i have trick flow kenny dutwiller heads right outta the box
papers came with it said they are good to .520" lift with my springs which are single springs with dampers. they are 1.250" springs.
fbird355 said he has comp 981 spring i can get from him, would these be better?
what am i looking at here.
thanks for any help clearing this up.

-doug in texas.

This is a hydraulic flat tappet cam? If so, you should be fine with the springs you have in the heads now, at least under 6000 RPMs. If you start pushing it up closer to 6500 you might find better springs are in order, or you might still be just fine.

replace them, trick flow isn't known for putting good springs on their heads. considering how easy and cheao it is to replace them now compare to the time and cost if they screw something up i wouldn't even consider using springs of unknow make or quality.

i think ill base my rpm limit on power(duh) but im thinking 5500rpm max

if i were to replace them what should i use, will the afore mentioned 981comp's work or should i get somthing else?

ede: as far as i know trickflow was bought out by summit could this change the qualiity of the stuff or would it be the reason for it?

i use lunati cams and springs for nearly everything i do, for sure in everything i pay for. i'd get some springs from lunati to match your cam, not that comp doesn't make great stuff, or crane. i'd stay away from gm and k motion springs.
