Hey, I was wondering exactly how big our gas tanks are,,,,I was thinking 14 gallons, but I wanna be sure so I can calculate my mileage correctly with my new carb.

The only change was when they switched to fuel injection and put the fuel pump in the tank. I'm not sure how much space the new system takes, but I think it is about 1/2 gallon. I'm not sure, but if you have a carbureted car with the old style mechanical pump on the engine, you might have a 16 gallon capacity. I think the 15.5 gallon spec is for later fuelie cars with the in tank pump.

Ive got a carb. engine, so I guess Ive got a 16 gallon tank, Im just surprised since Ive ran it till the "Fuel" light came one, and all it took was 14 gallons, but it might be that my dummy light comes on at 2 gallons, so that would make sense. Does anyone know for sure about an 84 with a carb.?
