gas mileage mods that can be done
ignoring the basic tune up which I'm sure we all know about what can be done for mods to improve gas mileage?
a few things I know of at least
inflate tires a little more
remove dead weight from the car
run skinny tires
use synthetic oil and maybe oil of a thinner weight
and of course gearing
what else though? hopefully without reducing power output much?
anything with the cam, heads, intake manifold?
what about using a little larger airdam?
what can you do for a carbed car different or maybe for a efi car to help out?

Fuel injector cleaner doesn't work. Waste of money. Injectors need to be removed and sonic cleaned if dirty.
Not much left besides switching to a more efficient engine like an LSx.

small cam, good matched heads, and EFI will do the most for fuel economy. Full synthetic from bumper to bumper is also a good idea.
If you have a V8, though, its going to get relatively bad fuel economy unless its the <200 HP setup that I previously mentioned. Although an efficient engine can do well with EFI so long as it isnt too crazy. Before I got my 96 taurus, I was considering this mod:
Fugly little thing, but when Im rushing to work and back Im not really concerned with what Im driving.

Better flowing intake tract such as the air cleaner and filter as well as a better flowing exhaust system.
Keep the car clean.
Take a dump before you drive.
Eat less.
Fill the cabin with helium balloons.
Ok... I'm getting silly now. Maybe it's the helium??
