I had the similar prob. I almost $hit in my pants when it ran.

I said I "HAD" the prob. I got it fixed by myself. If I can do it,so can you.

Ok.remove the IAC valve.See if there is any crud in the passages, clean it if there is any. Next you will need to check the IAC valve. If has not been replaced, then it is time.

Check all the hoses and vacumme lines form the Throttle Body.If they are loose or cracked.

My problem was the MAP,IAC, and the throttle body gasket. I replaced the them and my car ran like new. The gasket was worn and cracked.Making a vacumme leak.making it rev really high at idle.

When you drive the car may stall, smoke, and even make the throttle body air passages more dirty.

I recommend removing the throttle body and clean it good.really good.goto auto zone and get a gasket form a throttle body kit. then install a new IAC valve.and replace the MAP.

Tell us on how it goes.
