Frozen Door Handles, What can I do???

Last winter any time that it got really cold and my door handles want freeze shut along with my door. It didn't have to snow I guess just condensation that want get in the cracks would freeze. Several times I had to get a blow dryer to unfreeze it.
I am going to college in a week and it's in the mountains so it snows from like September to April and will be colder than where I live now.
What can I do to avoid using a blow dryer every day?

well, when my doors froze shut I just opened the hatch and crawled through. You just unlock it and pull up. Easier than trying to blowdry the doors.

I did what iroc5speed did too.

Maybe a remote starter would work with your heater turned all the way up the night before... not sure how long that would take though.

could you vaseline the door seals? not load it up, just a thin coating. it may help keep water from going inbetween the seals and freezing the door shut. also might want to put some lithium white grease in the dorr handle assembly. whatever you can do to keep water out. you could hang a trash bag over the window from the top with a couple small magnets? that would keep the snow out too (but a pain in the butt). i would give the vaseline a try, dont know if it will work.....but sounded good when when i thought of it just now.

what i do know is....you can actually pull the door seals off the car if you force the door open. they will stick together and then your really up sh|+s creek.

Winters in BC Can get pretty cold, so that's common for me. I just splash it with a bit of water, and it opens fine. However, if it cold enough, once your parked and get back in, you'll have to do it again. Works everytime though. Once I do it in the morning, it's usually fine the rest of the day. Dunno about where your going though.

The Jeep guys were the ones using the vaseline on the door sills.. they'd go off roading, and then couldn't get back into their jeep! So it will work; but as for the handles themselves freezing, sounds like you need to pop off the door panel, and lube everything up. Don't use WD-40 or similar inside the locks, WD-40 will wash any lube away, and your keys might not work. Use the specialized "graphite lube", it's used for all locks, so if you can't find it at an auto store, try a hardware store.
