Long block or short block?

ok...I know the basics, but i would like some real info on the difference between a long block and a short block...and is there any problem puttin a 2 bolt main motor in an 89 camaro? thanx in advance

Long Block is the block, crank, pistons, cam, heads, valves, springs.

Short Block is the block, crank, pistons, cam.

The long and short block are almost always pre-assembled.

Yes a 2 Bolt Main will fit just fine.

The only problem you might run into is the difference between the one piece '87 and later cranks and the two piece pre '87 cranks and what flywheel/flexplate you have to run.
