LB9 (305 tpi) pushrods
LB9 (305 tpi) pushrods
Just wondering if i could get some STOCK specs on the LB9 (305 tpi) pushrods, what length are they? and do they need to be "hardened"? Hydraulic flat tappet btw, no guide plates, uses head bores.
THANKS

I don't have the length in inches in front of me, but they are the same length as all SBC's from 1955 to 1986. The roller lifter engines used .100" shorter pieces.
They don't need to be hardened unless you use guide plates.

I would use hardened pushrods anyway, as your rockers arn't self aligning, they rub in the 'guide holes' in the head.
I'm not sure off hand, but Summit could hook you up. There's three basic lengths: 1. Standard hyd flat cam, 2. Factory Hyd. roller and 3. Aftermarket 'retrofit' hyd roller.
You need #3 because the aftermarket retrofit (You are using the 85 block right?) rollers are not the same length as the factory type roller pushrods.

Stock length IIRC is 7.795", or commonly 7.8" in most of the aftermarket product lines.
