88 GTA 350 TPI, Auto. What Mods to Start with

I will do the Maf screens and a custom ram air. other than that. where should I start. I.E. headers, cat back, prom, 1.6 rr., underdrive pulleys, as always I am on a budget. so go easy on me. I would like to get the car in the mid to upper 13's. the car has 3.27 posi, auto. I dont plan on changing that. any help would be appreciated Thanks.

I have the same car, and one single mod isn't really going to make a big difference in TPI, you need to mod everything. I'd start with a cam, it's the single most mod that nets a noticable improvement. The ZZ3 cam really picked up my car before I did any other mod. I am still running that cam and touch 12's under the right conditions, of course there's alot more I did...

Start with the cam, then attack the entire intake, cut holes in the air can, port the maf (many oppose this, but I have no problems), siamese runners...

Then do the exhaust and rockers, then when the tranny pukes, throw approx. 2300 rpm stall converter in front of the rebuild. I would skip the chip and had absolutely no gain from a 'performance' chip vs a stock chip I tweaked with timing adjustments, fuel pressure and TPS adjustments. Save 'custom' chips for SD cars. When and if you get into buring your own chips, the ARAP with highway mode enabled and a slight bump in idle RPM and VATS off is hard to beat.

Before doing any mods think of what the car needs most. Assuming normal wear and tear on a 13 year old car its probably starting to get a little loose and could use sub frame connectors and a bay brace. Go around a bumpy corner fast and see how it feels.
Another thing that is probably worn out is the posi, find a nice slick road, stop and then lay into it. Go back and look at the marks if one tire mark is alot longer then the other then you could use a new posi.
Find a take-out unit from a 4th gen, they are a tad bit stonger then our stock ones.
As far as power goes, start with the exhaust. No use trying to get the engine to burn more fuel when it can't exhale.

I posed another message about 1.65 roller rockers would this be an adequate option for a cam they should give me 459/473 lift if I do the math right. Or do I need to buy different push rods for 1.65s.
