Stalling problem

I'm trying to figure out why my engine 89 (LO3) stalls. It only does it when the car is not moving, it does not matter if it is hot or cold, in or out of gear. When it's just idling the rpm goes up to 2000 or so and then dies.. once and a while It'll not stay running if I try to start it again. It fires revs up to 2000 and shuts off, right after firing.. But If I step on the gas a bit before it quits, it stays running. I'm busy going through the helm manual, the only thing I can think of looking at would be the IAC, or EGR... but since it does this in open & closed loop.. I'm not sure what to do.. The ECM leaves me with not codes other than the normal 12.. Thoughts on this anyone.. . . .

Vacuume leak.I replaced the Throttle Body Gasket,IAC,TPS,MAP. It turned out to be the gasket, and black "crud" in the IAC passages. Also Check the connection to the Engine Coolant temp. sensor, loose or bad connection may cause stalling. All in about an hour of work with all the new parts next to you.
