I think I need help, perhaps even a 12-step program.

Last night, after my son finished his school work, we went out to the garage to stab some pistons. After getting everything set up and the rings on #1 piston, I discovered I had ordered small journal rod bearings. Still puzzled over how I did that, but the ones I now need are ship estimated 6/6 from Summit. I'm going to try to find them locally, but this will delay things for a few days.

Boy, do I feel sheepish...

Well I'll join your meeting, cause I don't even know what small journal rod bearings are (yet). Is this for the ZZ4?

Yeah. At least I got the main bearings right (which still has me confused as to how I got the rods wrong).

www.summitracing.com . I did the searching myself, ordered on-line.

They, however, sent cast instead of hypereutectic pistons when they filled the order (only difference in the p/n's is an "H" prefix for the hypers). I had ordered the correct parts, they just pulled the wrong one. They made that right.

It is possible that they had the bearings application screwed up on their website. It still says the bearings (FEM-2020CP) fit '68 & '69 302 & 327, which isn't true.

I think I'll be calling them up and requesting a return. I'm getting the proper bearings (FEM-8-2555CP) locally, since they can't ship until next month.

Well, they said to send them back, so they're on their way. Proper bearings are in the garage and waiting for the weekend.

Summit's and Jegs headquaters are just a few county's over and their stuff will come to your door in 24 hours or less. It is great. You should move to Ohio so you don't have that problem.
