People with dual roller timing chains come in

I just got my new motor going and i put a cloyes billet true roller timing chain on it. Didnt think about it at the time but i put it all together using the stock timing cover. Well it started grinding into the back of the timing cover because it was too thick. So we pulled it all apart and notice the stock cover was indented right where it was grinding. The 3 bolts are grinding at the cover. So we beat the timing cover back flat. Put it all back together and it didnt make any noise well a couple of days later the grinding has came back. Now sometimes it barely makes noise and other times it really squeals. So i guess i need to buy aftermarket timing cover for it. What did u guys do to get the dual roller chain to work in your car?

Are you using a factory-style or retro-fit roller cam?

I am assuming it is not a factory roller block. Sounds like you need a cam button. Check your timing and see if it jumps around. You are most likely getting cam walk.

i have one in a solid lifter cam motor and it's fine. i also have on in a hydraulic cam motor and it's fine too with the stock timing cover. must be cam walk.

And you're using the retaining plate, and your timing set is the one for factory roller setups?

My stock one fit just fine but when I installed a fancy chrome one the bottom gear started to eat away at the cover.

Are you using a "cam bolt lock kit"?

If so, you might want to try about 3 timing cover gaskets, to space it away from the block a little bit.

Are the aftermarket covers thicker? I went to the local parts stores and all the chrome ones were indented at the same spot my stock one was.
