hey guys...O2 sensor "swap" question
Tony(Fly89GTA) is having a problem gettin into closed loop, and hes throwin a few codes, unsure of what they are....one thing we want to try is replacing his O2 sensor(due to header collector gasket leak)
and we were wondering if the O2 sensor from an 86 firebird(2.8L V6) would work in his 89 L98.....let me know if it will work please
email me at REDHOTTLB9@AOL.COM

They are the same one wire o2 sensor. You can call the parts store and they both use the same o2. If you are going to buy one go ahead and change to the heated type. It will help you get into closed loop faster. Bosch p/n 13077 for 92 LT1 Vettes. The black wire is the signal wire and the two white wires are for power and ground. It doesn't matter which one you make hot or ground. Run the hot wire to the fuse block under the dash and connected it to a source that's only on when the car is running.

I've got a '92 LT-1 vette that is also having trouble getting into closed loop since gutting the cats and going to a Dynomax cat-back.
It smells way too rich, so I suspect the sensors are not getting hot enough to tell the ECM to go into closed mode. Open is too rich. The weird thing is that I've already replaced the stock one-wire sensors, and nobody said a word at the parts counter about a heated unit being available.
Huummmmm.......I'm on the way to Chevrolet to talk to a real parts guy - NOT friggin' Auto Zone Out.
I'll try to keep results posted, as this appears to be a problem encountered by many 3rd Genners and other bowtie owners.
Oh, fellers.....the 383 should be together in 2 weeks....and is the primary reason, along with traveling all over North America this summer, that you've not heard from me much. (I'm sure some of you like that)
I'll keep you posted.
