TPS voltage setting for MAP cars
TPS voltage setting for MAP cars
Whats the factorys range for tps voltage setting for a GM V8 MAP car? FWIW, I have a GM 7730 ECM in my '85 L98 with complete map setup.

Anything over .63v throws a code. The higher the setting the more 'fuel pump shot' you get. Work from .5v up to .6v to see what works best for you.
I wouldn't go below .45v

Factory specs for TPS voltage are .54volts at idle and 4.49 at WOT + or - .07 volts.

My TPS is .65 volts at idle and 4.21 @ WOT. It has been this way since DAY ONE and is completely stock. No problems.
One warning, DO NOT buy into to the modification of altering the TPS in an attempt to get more that 4.00 volts @ WOT. It is NOT the way to control Power Enrichment (the ECM's term for WOT). You control it through the Eprom by setting at what %TPS vs RPM you want PE to kick in. Stock is somewhere around 60-66% (I can't recall exactly as its been awhile since my eprom has been stock). But you can alter the %TPS to ANYTHING you want within the eprom...and THAT is the place to do it.
Also, I have found that when my engine is NOT running, I generally get only 3.8 volts if I step down on the Throttle @ WOT. But when the engine is running, I get 4.21 volts.
Hope this helps.
