No spark no fuel comming out of injectors what's wrong?

I went to start my 91 rs today and it sounds like it is about to start as it normally would. I turn the key and it sounds normal as though it is going to start but the engine will not turn all the way over (it seems to be cranking fine). I looked at the injectors on the TBI and there is no fuel sprayining from them. I then tried to start it by adding a little starter fluid into the tbi and it still would not start. I checked to see if I was getting a spark and there was none. The fuel pump does not seem to be energizing as it normally does at start up ( there is a sound kind of like a click comming from the area of the fuel pump relay when the ignition is turned forward. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Check your fusable link to your ECM in the engine bay close to the battery.

huh?

the injectors and the spark get the signal off the coil. I also check the module in the distributor. I have had mine go and it did exactly what you are discribing. The fuel pump relay clicks when it gets the signal from the computer to run..........

Check ignition module, pickup coil and/or ECM...

The distributor needs to send a reference pulse, generated by the pickup coil, to the ignition module, which then sends a pulse to the ECM....and the ECM fires the injectors at the appropriate time.

Ok thanks guys I will replace the ignition module along with the coil. anyone have any experience with this module it has a lifetime waranty and is only $30.00 ( GP Sorensen EL128). Or would it be worth investing in a preformance after market module?

That GP-Sorensen ICM will work just fine.

A word of advice, test the pick-up coil while your messing with the distributor. Once you remove the old ICM, it's really easy. The pick-up coil wiring attaches to the ICMs two-prong connector (on the top of the ICM in the picture). Take a multimeter, put it on the ohms setting, and check the resistance of the 2 wires by attaching one lead to each wire. You should see between 500 and 1500 ohms. Then, keep one lead attached to one of the pick-up coil wire and put the other lead on the distributor base, you should get infinite resistance.

And, don't forget to put the supplied dielectric grease on the distributor base in between it and the ICM.

would sort of problems might you have if the wiring/connector from the pick up coil to the ignition module is cracked or otherwise messed up? My car runs, but it idles HORRIBLY and backfired once. Never pulled distributor, but I did change cap and rotor. This was a while ago, but I THINK i noticed that the connector was bad on the pickup coil. I do check and recheck the firing order and it was fine.
