Can smog hoses be connected straight to the cat?

I was wondering if you can route the hoses from the diverter valve that go into the pipes for the exhaust manifolds to a pipe on a cat? My current LG4 does not have a pipe on the cat but my new hi-flow one does. Can you put the hoses into a "T" hose connecter and then run it straight to the cat? I don't see why not since the hoses will be providing air to the cat.

Thanks,
Matt

Have you thought about getting a new diverter valve? Can't be too expensive, but your way would probably work the same.

Where could I find a new diverter valve with one outlet? Is this something I could find at the hardware store?

Lots of people remove those things, maybe you could put an ad in the classifieds to purchase one.

Wouldn't you need two outlets? One for the cat, one for the exhaust manifolds? Thats how mine is.

That's what I'm trying to eliminate. I got a set of Dynomax Cerama-coats and they don't have A.I.R. fittings. I was hoping I could route both hoses to the cat. I'm also planning on putting a heated O2 sensor in the Y-pipe. The current setup has 2 hoses both running from the diverter valve into pipes on each exhaust manifold.

Thanks,
Matt

OH! Try an auto parts store, they have a ton of connectors like that. Sorry, I thought you were trying to do something else.
