Red color on all my parts

I read and hear that things like spark plugs and O2 sensors are supposed to be grey or light tan when the mixture is right.

my problem (or question) is when I took my heads off recently the exhaust valves had an unmistakeable RED deposit covering them along with my spark plugs and O2 sensor. the guy at the motor shop said it was a sign of slight detonation but I have also heard that the color can come from gas additives which I use every once in awhile.

anyone ever had experience with red deposits?

When I used to use Sunoco Ultra 94, I got reddish orange deposits on my plugs.

HEY !

that is what I had been using for 3 months before I took everything apart.
I hope thats what this is because I dont like the idea of running under detonation all the time. maybe I ll get a scanner and see how much if any detonation I have.

I wouldn't think you would have detonation using 94 octane gas.
