Finishing the clearing out of misc wiring, and the old stock shifter, I noticed that there is a cable that goes up into the steering column from the stock shifter. WTF is this for and why does it go there?
BTW: I'm setting up my new pro-ratchet shifter and I cant quite seem to get it to shift to all gears correctly. I followed the instructions on how to setup the shifter for a 700R4, simply remove the pin. Do I just have to keep adjusting it till I get it, or is there a trick? I have the cable mounted to the shifter correctly and it is mounted to the bracket's like it should be. The cable is a nice red one, cant remember if it came with the shifter or not.
thanks.

no clue about the shifter, but that cable is the shift interlock cable. It keeps the car from being shifted out of park without the key being turned
