car smells like a boat motor
hey when i'm idling my car it smells like a boat motor...i'm guessing that is oil and gas mixed..i just bought the car, an 83 camaro..i was told the engine was rebuilt and the car has been sitting for 9 months..also looks like a lot of blowby...i took the valve covers off and everything was CRUSTY black.....plugs smell like gas...but clean.. any ideas.... i'm losing sleep..

A bad fuel pump will let fuel into the oil sometimes; they often fail after they've been sitting up.

thanx for the tip... ill check it out tomarrow..are there any other things i should do before i start running the engine(its only been started a few times...never more than 3 or 4 mins.
