slow slow slow slow slow slow

ok ,this is my car :

83z28 305
holley600cfm vac.sec.
K&N filter plus stubstack
edelbrock rpm performer
dynomax exhaust
dual snorkel intake
th-200c
new torque converter
2.73 rear

this is my problem:my car runs great only after 2,700rpm, before that point i don't have any power , the car runs flat.
I've tried almost everythings the carb is perfecly tune(no bogs or backfire) the base timing is set at 9° i've checked the rotor and cap (the only thing that i found a lot carbon deposit on the rotor and scratches on the cap terminal),cylinder compression
pressure is fine,i don't have the catalytic converter..
NOW i'm really frustrated
it takes 8.7sec. to lanch my car from 0 to 60mph ,i think it's too much.

I need some good advice cause i'm reeeallyy frustrated!
PLEASE HELP ME!

get a gear

your car is stalling too high for you little 305. they dont have a whole lot of torque and with even a mild stall and that 2.73 gear it is going to feel like you are going no where FAST

Get a 3.42 or 3.23, you can go 3.73 too but you compromise mpg on the highway

How does your tranny shift, if it is slipping on the 1-2 shift that will severly hurt your 0-60 time, at least that's what happened to me until I had it corrected.

Are you using the stock manifolds, plus you have the stock dual snorkel intake which along with the manifolds isn't helping your engine breath. A big hinderance of 305's is the stock exhaust manifolds and air intake.

NO... i've an edelbrock rpm performer mainfold with the dual snorkel intake (the one used in the 5.7 h.o.)
The tranny slips a little bit : i saw an increase of about 700rpm when shifting 1-2.

At which rpm should i run my engine from the standing position?

THANKS!!!!

I meant stock exhaust manifolds not intake manifold.

That 1-2 shift flare of 700 rpm's isn't helping your 0-60 time. Check the tranny boards for trannies slipping or how to adjust the TV cable. Transfixleo gives a very clear direction on how to properly adjust the TV cable, which will hopefully help your trannies shifting.
