weird problem

I went last night and bought a 91 Camaro it's just a 305 TBI and the thing is when I went and looked at it the thing started and ran fine went to drive it home and immediatly when it started sputtering and wanted to die, well see the guy that had it knows nothing about cars he sells mini bikes and he traded a couple of them for this car ok, well I remember him telling me that it had a viper security system on it. Well I dont have the key fob for it, so this morning before I went to work I just started it to see what it sounded like and it ran fine, came home put in new plugs, wires, cap, etc... Well took it down the road, ran awesome (too good for an old worn out 305 to me lol) and came home shut it off and went to start it same sputtering problem.. Then I noticed I was hearing a clicking sound sort of like a blinker sound under my dash so I get out disconnect the battery for a few secs, put it back on and immediatly my door locks start popping and my hatch opens, well then I go to start it runs perfect, shut it off same problem.. So my guess is just disconnect the power to the alarm and its fixed, just wanted to know if anyone had experienced anything like this before to see if maybe it was something else????

Before you disconnect power toi the alarm, best to check with Viper and see what they say...some alrm setups have internal batteries...so when main power is disconnected, the alram activates.
