Valve spring changing

When you change springs, what is the name of the fitting you get for your air compressor to plumb into your spark plug hole? I need to get that so I can change my springs and finish my cam swap, but I don't know what its called.

i dont know the name of the fitting, but may i ask what type of valve spring compressor you decided to use?

I only do spraing/seal changes with the heads off. Simply because its 10 times easier. While in the var the valves will move a bit and the keepers can be a life to get out.

While the type of compressor you use may make it eaier i have used all the ones for on/off use and can tell you whats bad about either one.

I've used to 2 arm grabber syle where you spin the nut in to compress, it falls off way to easy and makes you invent new cus words.

I've used the 3 arm grabber, it makes it a bit easier then the 2 arm, yet getting it to stay is still hard. ITs hard to imagine but the springs always seem to be different on each side it grabs from.

I prefer the Long Arm method. With my 12 year old brother, ipull on the arm, he gets the keepers out.

I can do a intake/head pull, change springs and keepers now in 4 hourswith just the two of us. It helps when your well rehearsed. As i always like to take the long way todo something that way the actual thing i'm trying to get at is much easier. Plus if you pull the head you can remove built up carbon with always helps the motor.

Your decision, but the compressed air thing is on the board in many places try searching.

I've usually seen it called an "air holder".

Oh yeah, I broke 2 of those little black rings that are on the valve stem, but then i tried installing a spring, and it seated just fine and is being held just fine with hte keepers, will it hurt for the #1 cylinder to not have them? Can i just get them at autozone?
