egr ports on the 89 L98 heads

Engine: lt1 intaked 355 makin 277 on 25 psi of fuel pressure and stock timing :)
Transmission: A4 stock... that moved a mobile dyno a foot shifting into 2nd :)
egr ports on the 89 L98 heads
hey these heads dont have egr ports. and my old heads do whats the deal. can i still run them? i have an 86 intake

Sure you can run them, but you wont have a functioning EGR system.

most likely you will get an egr code 32... you could alter the prom to keep this from happenning... there may be another solution other than prom tunning... anyone???

If you decide to alter the PROM, you will have to uncheck the egr error plus you may have to retard the timing back a few degrees to compensate to the lack of the egr. I need to.

Yeah you can still run them, but you won't have the functioning EGR system. You may have to retard timing and you'll get an error code from the computer unless you make a custom chip and tell it not to report that error. Not to mention this would not be street legal.
However you could have somebody cut into the exhaust manifold or header, whatever you have, and weld a fitting on there. Then you may be able to route exhaust gas back to the EGR valve somehow. This may be tricky and would require some custom work, but it looks like it could be done, and be street legal.

what would it do if i ran no EGR?
