Dead Starter

I was going to start my Camaro yesterday and it cranked over a few times but didn't start. So I stopped and turned the key again and pressed on the gas. This time it cranked over once and then stopped. I thought maybe the battery was dead (It's a month old) but I tryed jumping it and it went between 8 and 13 but it still won't crank over at all. Could this be a dead starter?

Before you replace your starter check the battery cables. Corrosion or a bad contact could cause the same problem.

let the battery charge (to ensure a full charge and that nothing else is drawing curent from it)... then retest... this will help determine if its the starter, the battery, a draw prob, or a charging system prob...
