blow by??

I think my car has a bad case of blow by...
I took the oil cap off and the pcv valve out and revved it up and three was quite a noticable steam coming out... is this a correct test? or could it be a leak of antifreeze in the head gasket or intake because the car does you a little antfreeze...

If there was a head gasket problem there would either be oil in the radiator or antifreeze in the oil pan. You could check for that.

Is it STEAM or SMOKE? Two very different things.

Probably just oil vapors, I've seen my van do it but it's a Mitsubishi engine (Dodge). That's what the PCV system is for, so I wouldn't sweat it too much. The best test for blow-by is a compression test.

You really need to run a leak down test to determine if blow by is excessive. A compress test will work in a pinch.
