clunks when hitting 80% of the time, etc..
EDIT: oops, clunks when hitting brakes, and since i can't edit\delete the topic title...
About 80% of the time when i hit my brakes i will hear a clunk coming from the front, (sounds like front right but not sure). Now the weird thing is that the sound doesn't happen immediatly after hitting the brakes, it depends. Sometimes i will hit the brakes and it will do it right away, other times i will hit the brakes and right before the car comes to a stop it makes the noise. or somtimes half way through it makes it. And it also made this clunk this morning when i was backing up. I was backing up a small hill out of my parking space, and i was turning at the same time, and it was idling back until i got steeper, so i gave it some gas to get it moving again, adn the wheel was turned, and i heard the clunk again. Its not a loud clunk, just loud enough to hear, most of my passengers don't seem to hear it. And i think i can feel it too, in the wheel and brake pedal. So before i take everything apart wut should i look for? wut might be making this sound??

im pretty sure its not a tranny mount, its coming from the very front, no where near the tranny, something in the front suspension im pretty sure.

Brake caliper noise would be my guess, mine does it too but the bolts are tight so the only thing I can think of is the pads shifting around in the calipers or the pistons sticking.

Check your sway bar mounts at all four mounting points. Any one thats broken or if the bushing sqeezed out will cause a clunk.
Also pop the hood and pry off the plastic covers on top of the struts. Make sure these nuts are tightened down (They will still spin unless you hold the center stud, this is normal)
I've had front 'clunking' problems because of both of these happening. Hope this helps.

My car did that, and I really thought it was an engine mount or something up front, but the sound went away when I replaced the tranny mount. If you've been racing or stopping hard, accelerating quickly, and still have the stock mount, or an old one, you should replace it.
