Was it seized? chewing up speedo gears?
That's what I had, and i've bypassed it, with a one piece cable...
sorry, but I can't help you, but I am dying to know, 'cuz I want to have my cruise control working again someday, so I'll give you a bump.

yeah. I see you can buy new ones for $70 from autozone, napa, etc. and rebuilt ones on ebay. But, I was hoping to rebuild myself.
careful
I have taken apart mine. Should have been a little more careful. Mark very carefully the cover with the cables, because it rotates in three positions. Also mark the part which the wires are attached which says hold and set. It slides from side to side. Mark it accurately. Just putting my 2 cents in. I cleaned up mine and it turned out to be that disengraged filter particles inside. Cleaned up nicely. Instead of junk, it is pretty junk now.
