I've gone for months without changing the tranny mount. I took it easy, so .. if you do the same you should be fine.

It takes like 30 minutes to change, I think there are only about five bolts that need removing.

Do you have a posi rear end?
If so, check your fluid, or change your fluid and add the GM Limited slip oil.
Bad Tranny mount should make a sound when you get on it and when it shifts, not when it turns, as far as I know.
I do know that when you don't have the limited slip additive in your rear end it wall make a metallic pop sound that sounds like it's coming from the tranny, but it's really coming from the rear end.
My little brother just had his gears replace and about 1/2 a day later it would pop when he turns from a standstill, adding the additive made it go away.
It's only $6.00 for a bottle from your local GM dealer.

that is the tranny mount as mentioned above, that happened to me too. I took about an hour and a half to change when I didn't have a floor jack and stands. we just put it on the edge of the driveway where we could crawl under. make sure to support the tranny with a jack(we used the spare tire jack). We had to play with the bolts a little to get everything lined up right, that's what took so long.
