timing problems

well i put a new performer intake manifold on my CCC 305 , has everything hooked up right and all and the timing is good. Engine was running good and not missing at all. Well i pull in at a store to get some gas and the engine diesels . When i go to start the car back up it seems like the timing may have jumped , all of a sudden it runs like its got a bad miss or that something with the ignition is messed up. Well today i noticed that its running hotter than normal and now the check engine light is coming on. What do you guys think could be the problem. Engine timing jumped out of place?

Well, it is possible but its not the only possiblity. Did you have the distributor tightened down good? Just use a timing gun and check the timing again
