What is this part for?

Okay so this tube was disconnected since i owned the car but noticed on someone elses car that it was plugged into the blower air box. My blower was turned 180 degrees so the tube could not be connected but i got it to connect today but i had to redrill some holes and the blower doesn't really line up right. How important is it that the blower is sealed up perfectly to the box and what does that tube even do?

If you are drilling holes to make it fit, that should be your clue to stop and figure out whats going on. That tube will rotate easily, and connects to the air box that the blower is bolted onto. If the bolts don't line up, you just loosen all the screws, and rotate it until they do line up.

It's a duct to cool the motor.

It looks like you're trying to use a non-A/C blower motor on an A/C blower box, or vice versa?

The motor blows the air from the tube into the cabin. The tube just connects to a hole that is right in the picture. If you drilled a hole then you have to plug the stock one.

I rotated the motor and no screw holes lined up so i drilled new holes to mount the motor. I am geussing it's probably the wrong blower or something.

well i was able to make it line up but it isn't a totally tight seal. How important is it for the blower to seal completly to the air box?

Use some weatherstripping to seal it.
