Cams and there effect on emissions

If I were to throw a ZZ4 in my car with the more or less stock TPI on it...

would upgrading to the LT4 hotcam in that ZZ4 increase emissions? If so, by approx how much? My guess is that in NJ, a ZZ4 TPI may be able to pass, but cutting it really close. So would the LT4 hotcam hurt even more?

A properly running ZZ4 will run as clean as a stock engine.
Even w/ the LT4 hot cam it should still be able to get through pretty easily as long as it is dialed in right, especially with a good set of cats.

- Definitely prototypes, high powered mutants of some kind. Too weird to live, too cool to die

Buddy here has the ZZ3 (same as ZZ3 except pistons, rods, oil pan) w/ZZ9 cam, 1.6 rockers, Big Mouth intake, SD system, bunch of other stuff. Kept the crate exhaust manifolds, converted to dual cats. Custom chip, AFPR, 19 lb injectors.

He passed the dyno emissions here with fast pass (shortened test for vehicles that start the test with low emissions).

He did need to plumb exhaust up to the intake for the EGR, since the ZZ3/ZZ4 heads do not have the exhaust cross-over passage.
