1988 Camaro Iroc No Keys/vats/ Help!!!
hey guys, just wondering about the 1988 camaro iroc. I got one but does this year come with the VATS system, where you need a special key so the car will stay running? I heard that they only started that with the 89's any help on that? also, the 88 camaro has no keys and the cheapest i can get JUST an ignition key cut is 85 bucks and thats outrageous. Dont ya think? anyways, just wondering if anyone knew anything about getting a key code for 88 irocs?? or any place that can help you get the information you need to get another key made so its not so cheap?? any help with this guys? This really sucks

99% sure that Camaros didn't get VATS until '89. Go to autozone and buy an ignition cylinder, it should come with a new key for like $13.

not sure how far they go back, but a dealer can cut a key from the vin number...if not I would change the cylinder....
