I am have a shifting problem.



-The car shifts fine driving it normal

-wont shift into third when the car is at full throttle.

-I tried to adjust the throttle valve cable and i still have the same problem.

 

Are you sure it 3rd and not 4th. Because they will not shift into 4th (OD) at WOT.

 

I have this same exact problem..I would always have to let off cause the car wont shift. I thought it was 3rd also, but it might be 4th. But why wont it shift? And how can i fix this, just take it out of OD?

 

GM designed it to not shift into O/D at WOT, to save the clutches. O/D is for cruising, not accelerating. You can make a change in the valvebody to let it hold O/D at something like 80% throttle, but why do you need to?

 

It is third gear.

When i put it to the floor it will not shift into 3rd.

sometimes it will shift but it takes a while and i loose speed.

It shifts just fine when im driving it normal.

i dont think it is the over drive.

 

How fast are you going and what are the rpm's when this is happening?

I'm still betting its OD.

 

From a dead stop.

The rpms sometimes dont stop i have to let off. If i get lucky it will stay at 5200 for a second or two and shift.

I just put a pulley set on.

When i had my headers done they took out my air system and one of the pulleys
