Buying and driving home (1100mi) an 89 Iroc.... what should I bring with me?

Ok, I've done this once before with my truck (bought it from a guy in South Caralina and drove it back to Dallas) but....That truck only had 20k miles and was perfect.

-Now, I've made a deal with a guy to buy his '89 IROC w/t-tops , LB9, T-5, and 55,000 miles.

-I'll be driving from Ohio (Columbus area) to Dallas

-The guy says he hasn't done a tune up since it had 32Kmi, and that it could use one. Other than that, he says it runs perfectly.

Now, I've given myself 48hrs to pick the thing up and drive it back (1100 miles), and I plan only one overnight stay.

Here's where I want your opinion:... what should I bring with me? Remember I'll be flying there so lots of luggage will be a pain in the a$$. So, what basic tools do you suggest, and what replacement items (serpentine belt, cap.. etc...)????

I would suggest a bottle of antifreeze and water in case you end up having a cooling system problem, along with a set of screwdrivers. Maybe buy a quart of oil to have incase there are leaks.

Ok, thanks.... I'll pick that stuff (except the Sdrivers) up from a local parts store once I get there.

Any other suggestions?

Here's what I'd do...

Pick the car up and change the Serp belt, take it in for an oil change and tranny fluid change and coolant change. Check the air in the tires.

Get in and drive home

You might want to change the spark plugs too. Maybe you should take the car in for a tune-up. See if an allignment is necessary.
