5.7s with a 5 speed ---- PROOF!

I got this from iroc-z.com, Key points abou the 1987

"Note: The 350 5.7L was available with the 5 speed manual transmission as RPO 1LE beginning late in 1986 and through the 1990 model year. Chevrolet has no record of just how many were made. They were essentially hidden from the public. They had the A/C delete, radio delete and no power options as well as the same options as the 1LE cars everyone knows about (no fog lights, baffled gas tank, larger brakes). The car could only be ordered and very few people new about it and therefore very few were made. The dealer actually had to contact the manufacturer to obtain instructions on how to order this car because it was not ordered using the normal ordering procedures. This ordering secrecy was the main reason that very few were made. The car was offered as a model that more closely resembled the cars raced under the IROC racing series. I personally have never seen one of these cars nor have I met anyone who owns one of these cars. This information comes from two published sources from my library of information on these cars. It is repeated here for your information. I would be very wary of someone claiming that they have a car that is a 1LE with a 5 speed. Anyone who does have one of these cars, knows what they have and has the documentation on it. If you don't see documentation, then it probably is not a 1LE 5 speed car. "

Someone either knows there stuff or is mistaken

That according to it b/c I have the G92 package i have a 1LE IROC?! ummm, i wish i had the RPO sheet for this car, I would like to know. I doubt it is 1LE but you never know huh, it is a TPI 5.0 5 speed the B/W axle KC4 cooler etc etc. It there a way i could take the VIn and get a report on what this car really is? The only thing I don't have it is dual converters, was there even a 1987 1LE IROC? I would really apppricate if someone could help me figure out what my car is?

An article on the internet is hardly proof. I can make an article on my site that says a special edition 454 89 z28. Doesn't mean it's true.

------------------
350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

if any 5.7L was available with a 5 speed don't u think the dealers would want people to know about it so sales would go up?

From the same website, just a few lines up:
"The 220 HP 5.7 Liter 350ci engine was available in 1987 only with an automatic transmission."

I wish he would make up his mind.

And G92 doesnt by any means make it a 1LE. Silly...

Be real careful what you read.

the only proof i'm going to consider believing is if it come's from gm or i see a car with that rpo listing. furthermore, no 1987 1LE cars made. there were cars with the same options as you'd find on a 1LE car, but the rpo 1LE wasn't used until 1988.
