Hmmmm.... none of the ones I've ever built for myself or anyone else ever got shipped in a crate, usually only on a stand, so I guess they don't count....
I could be wrong but I don't really think that an engine will get different gas mileage according to whether it got wrapped in a wooden box (as opposed to a plastic bag for example) at some point in its life.

That's not bad, not bad at all. My TBI305 gets about 14-18 in the city and about 20 on the highway. I've been trying to decide if I should buy a 4th gen or stick a 350 in my car and build it up from there. Do you like the ZZ4? Was it an easy swap?

Man I am a ZZ4 fanatic
The engine is very sweet- sounds awesome and has the torque of the devil. Had someone do the conversion for me, pretty straight forward though.

It was in 3rd.
I don't know how easy a swap it is for a normal 305, I would think pretty damn easy. I swapped from a 2.8 and it was a bitch and a half.

ZZ4 guys,
What kind of headers and exhaust are you running? Are you still running the stock type exhaust setup? I'm thinking a ZZ4 with headers and a 3" catback running through a 700R4 to 3.42 posi rearend with 275 series tires would get me about a 13.6 or 13.7? Gotta hang with those LS1s!

Here's what I'm running now, from the intake to the rear tires:
L69 Dual Snorkle w/K&N
Modified Eqjet (DR rods and G hangar)
Stock ZZ4 crate
LT1 flywheel/Mcleod clutch disc/LT4 pressure plate
T56 from a 96 LT1 Camaro
1LE Aluminum Driveshaft
Moser Ford 9" with 3.89 gears
Exhaust:
SLP 1 3/4" Shorty headers
Dual cats
Flowmaster "after cats" Y
Flowmaster 3" catback and muffler.
I wish I could tell you what it runs, but I just got it running again myself and I'm having issues with the clutch.
