shifter knob removal

shifter **** removal

91 rs auto. I see the c-clip, I removed it now what? just pull?

Once you pull the c-clip out, you also have to take the shiny plastic cap off the shifter button(just pull up on the button). Once you have the button cover off, you will see the dull-colored button. It will have an inner and outer part. Press down on the outer part; the inner part will stay at the original height(you may have to put the key in the ignition and put it in its on position, so that you can press the outer part of the button down). You have to give the inner part of the button a quarter turn and then pull it out. Then, pull out the outer part of the button. you will see a spring that you have to take out. Then just pull the **** out. That's how I remember doing it.

Ya, the clip is a mild pain, I reached in with asmall pair of dykes to grab it...kinda pushed the leather back a bit with the dykes, and grabbed the clip.
