305 TBI Blazer Heads

The engine i have in my camaro is a 1990 K Blazer 305 that was TBI, Could anyone tell me what heads are on this thing and are they the same at the LB9 heads, I have the LB9s but the K blazer engine has a total of 100 miles on it(has 8 when i bought it for $900)

AFAIK there were no 305s in K Blazers in that year... it should have been a 350. But in either case, if it's a factory TBI motor, then the heads suck for high perf use. They are a far worse design than the ones used on a TPI motor. They'll be the "swirl port" type, with the big "ramp" obstruction in the intake port.

The heads are the same as far as bolt pattern, chamber size, and valve size. The Blazer heads have the swirl port in the intake bowl, and the Camaro heads may or may not have them. Since you have the heads from the Camaro off already, take one of the intake valves out and look in the bowl. If it is half blocked off, then it's a swirl port head and it's the same as the Blazer head. If it's open, then it may be worth rebuilding, porting and polishing and putting on the Blazer engine that's already in the car.

Another thing is the cam. The cam that was in your Camaro engine is much better than the one in the Blazer engine. Since it's a roller cam, milage doesn't matter and if it were mine, I'd swap it.

i have the cam thing listd in the TPI i think. Yeah my G92 cam was destroyed on the old engine...#8 was complety blown up piston in uncountable pieaces, rod bolts bent at 90*, con rod in 4 parts, dist gear busted, cam with dents in it...etc etc it was bad, but the heads were UNTOUCHED. Looks like the guy before me really had no idea what he was doing.
