Not trying to solve anything. I need a dipstick because I did an engine swap and my dipstick is not staying in the hole. Like it got lose, so I am just to find a replacement not from the dealer that will cost me an arm and leg.

what side of the engine is the dipstick on?
you can buy a cheep mrgasket chrome dipstick for under $20.
most all autoparts stores carry them or a "proform" brand.

RTV will work. Doesn't your tube have a tab on it for bolting to the exhaust manifold? Or, did you install headers while you were at it?

Since we're on the subject, I figured I'd ask in this thread...
I need a new dipstick for my new engine, but I am only finding 2 kinds for 80 up, one for 80-82 and one for 82-85... but what's the difference, and which will work for a 1 piece rear main roller block?
This...80-82
or
This...82-85
Or do I need to look elsewhere?

I have an 91 block and that was my biggest problem. But I just looked on Ebay and found a bunch ranging from 6 bucks to 40 bucks. The expensive is one that was mentioned in this post that is steel braided looks awesome. there was a chrome one that was like 6 bucks with 5 dollars shipping. I am thinking of getting that one.
