Question > Vib damper install.

Hi,
gotta quest.
See the pics?
Is that the right position? Or must I go a bit further?
Don't know how it was, before removing. Was a few month ago.
Thx
Hawk

You just need to make sure the damper hub is seated against the crankshaft timing gear. Just go until it stops moving in.

Well, thats my problem.
I don't have the mounting tool for that.
I did with a rubber hammer, and the center screw. And right now I'm at a point, where I would say the noise of the center screw isn't sounding very trustfully .
Do I have any great disadvantages, when not sittin' in right position?

Yes... Rent a tool from autozone and put it on the proper way. Once your done, return it and get your money back.

You can go to a hardware store and buy a bolt that is 6" long, and a nut that goes on that bolt... make sure it's the same thread as the crank (7/16-20?) and then use your washer from the damper...

put the nut on the bolt, put the washer on, then screw the bolt all the way into the crank, then "loosen" the nut to force the damper on.

That's how I did mine, now I have a tool for if I ever need to do it again, and it cost me a total of maybe $1.50.
