Car won't start

Hey everyone, when I was driving my 88 Iroc yesterday, all of a sudden the radio died and the car shut down in the middle of the road. After I got it to the side of the road, I realized that I have no lights and my guages don't work. The only thing electric that works is the SES light. It flashes a code 34 and 42. The car will crank over and start but will die because the fuel pump isn't engaging. Nothing electrical works and the only thing that seems to be working is the starter. I checked my fuses and none are blown. Any ideas? Thanks everyone for your help.

A classic case of a blown fusible link...

There are 2 of these, they go through the little metal tube to the terminal of the starter where the battery cable also goes, they each hook up one of the 2 big red wires that feeds battery into the pass compartment. When one blows, about half of the circuits in the car lose their power, according to no particular obvious pattern.

I second that. You may want to take a close look at your cables also. Look for worn insulation (ground).

Hey also you got another fuse to your fuel pump its right behind your passager side head light in front of your battery. I m talking its right behind the headlight. I know theres a relay there, but keep looking over there. Anyway theres another one it looks like a relay but if you pull it out theres a 15watt fuse that goes there. I know mine blew out and did almost the same thing.
