RR or not to RR that is the question.

I have the common smoke at start up so I am going to be replacing my seal. I was thinking as long as I am in there why don't I replace those tired springs. But I was also thinking adding some 1.6 roller rockers. My local speed shop quoted me $350 for them. (Crane gold, only ones that will fit under the valve covers) Do you guys think it is worth it? Can I reuse these if I change out the heads? Should I just go with roller tip stamped rockers? I don't know a lot about upgrading valve trains so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can't you just get some taller valve covers, that is, if you could get some cheaper RRs somewhere else?

Why not just get roller tipped rockers? They are much less expensive and will fit. Im not sure about how they will compare as far as performance, though.

I can tell you that those Crane Gold Series Race roller rockers will definately fit under the stock rocker covers without any modifications. They are also pretty damn noisey. I would say that if you don't plan on revving the motor really high, a roller tipped 1.6 rocker will give you good results and save you some cash - and noise.... hehe.
