350 HO Deluxe Possibility?

How much power should a 350 H.O. crate deluxe push with a Hot Cam and Fast burn Heads?

Is anyone running a simular setup?

I believe that GM already makes a crate engine similar to that and they rate it at 385hp. They have a 425hp version of the crate motor as well. They are called "fast burn 385" and "fast burn 425" respectively. They both use the GM fast burn heads but I cannot remember off hand what cam they use.

Correct, but why would you want to run fastburn heads on a 350. It makes no sense the ports are 210cc's to big for anything less than 383 for the street. The vortec heads on the HO will be better if you have them modded to run more lift.

Shifty....well really I wanted to go the deluxe because of the less shopping I will have to do for all the parts I need to get her running... I want to customize my own engine and have the feeling that I gave it that power... I also may want to wait a while to have that much power....take steps your know. (I am not the only one who drives the car)

Leigh... Fastburn Heads go on 350s all the time... I actualy have them in my other car... Now for the lift... the engine comes with 1.5 rockers...if I moved to a 1.6 with the LT4 Hot Cam shouldn't I have plently of lift?

Would the 650 CFM carb be an issue?

He is refering to the small guide clearance on stock vortec heads. A hot cam will be way past the safe zone in that regard. Vortecs seem to range from .460 to .480 lift.

HEH exactly what I am building.... has the hot cam and fast burn heads....went to 1.6 rockers I see...and 750CFM carb... I would be happy with those power ratings... Thanks for the link!

Am I missing anything else I need?
(besides fast burn heads, 1.6 rockers, 750 CFM carb, Hot Cam)
