82 Pace Car Camaro
I bought a 1982 Camaro Z28 Pace car. The previous owner replaced the engine with a 350 cu in 4 barrel carb, Flowmaster headers w/o air pump fittings and Flowmaster exhaust. The car also has a stock non ECM distributor. I also bought a camaro crossfire injection unit with air Cleaner, a stock ECM distributor, and a set of Corvette crossfire injectors. I would like to try to keep the engine as stock looking as possible and still have some performance. Before I get too far into the project I'd like to know if anyone has answers to the following questions.
1. Can I run the 350 cid engine with the crossfire injection in closed loop on the ECM without the air pump.
2. Would I be better off using the ECM distributor, or the non ECM distributor.
3. If I can do the above. Where can I get a ECM chip to make the above setup work correctly.
4. Is it worthwhile to purchase an adapter cable and software to use a laptop to see what the ECM is doing. even though I can't change any adjustments.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
