fan switch???? location....

does anyone have a pic of where your coolant fan switch sits on a 91 camaro TBI 305 RS. car runs hot, fan doesnt come on til 220 - 240 for like 10 seconds and then shuts off. i swapped the upper radiator hose due to a splice in the line as well as the thermostat. any suggestions?

You can wire up your own switch, buy a jet or hypertech unit or get a custom prom that will turn it on sooner. I don't have a pick of the location, but it's between the last two cylinders on the passenger side and almost directly above your knock sensor. It's installed in the head and will pee anti-freeze all over you if you don't drain the cooling system before you change it.

ok just so we are both on the same page........ your not talking about the coolant temp switch?? im talking about the fan switch. additionally, im not that high tech with re-wiring, etc. so the possibility of me doing that is out of the question. thanks though. if anyone has a pic or could take a pic i would appreciate it.

Yes. I'm talking about the fan switch. It has a pinch style one-wire connector. If you wanted it on all the time all you have to do id run a wire from the wire that plugs into the switch up to the ground on your battery. Presto! The fan's on all the time.

When you turn the car off, the fan will go off with it. The fan switch can be purchased through either Jegs or Summit racing. Both have online stores.
