basic timing chain set questions

yes ive searched and know this is a fairly common topic but am still somewhat confused as to which set to buy. basically i have 350 motor on a stand that im working on. not messing with the bottom end at all. just workin the heads, changing seals, gaskets, etc. so im lookin for something as good or lil better than stock. i understand its best to go with cloyes double roller chains. but which one exactly? will it be a set that comes with sprockets too? if i need to change sprockets, how do i install 'em? (guessing a regular puller will take 'em off? the motor was running smooth with no problems before i pulled it out. the old chain does have some slack.

TIA

Timing sets come with the chain and sprockets (otherwise you're not buying a timing set, you're buying a timing chain.

The cam sprocket is held on by the cam bolts, the crank sprocket is pressed on. A gear puller will get it off, and you can buy, rent, improvise or steal an installation tool.

just read on the summit site that this chain is a double. i read that in order to make a double fit the block has to be grinded or the chain will rub. is this true? i just want something i can slap on and go. im not going crazy with this block. pretty much just having it as back up in case somethin happens to my current 350 TPI.

I didn't have to modify my block for a double roller chain

Just because it's a double roller doesn't automatically mean it's going to rub.

what u guys think of that single roller setup? im thinkin double roller is a bit overkill for a basically all stock engine.

I believe in overkill at all times for everything worth doing.

The double will keep your timing more consistent, and I've never had to clearance a block for one.
