carb spacers
carb spacers
anybody ever install a carb spacer onto their camaro? i've got a 4bbl and was wondering if it actually did deliver more power/gas mileage as they advertise. what's involved in the installation? is it really involved?
I have one waiting for my 350, so I can't tell you how about the power/gas milage, but I have seen them installed. Basically, you put it in there and rebolt down your carb on top of it, simple as that really...not involved.

It's a tuning aid. Not a fix. Carb spacers can be 4 hole or open. As short as 1/2" and as tall as 2". They can be made out of wood, plastic or aluminum.
Because each engine and car are different, you need to try different spacers or combination of spacer to find out what works best.
The gas milage increase would be very hard to detect. As for more power, they won't acutally give you enough to feel but you may see an extra couple of hp on a dyno. What they really do is move the power that's available into a different rpm range. Like I first said. They're a tuning aid.
