Code alarm? Like a car alarm of some sort? I'd imagine someone may have put a kill switch in there somewhere like in the fuel pump or ignition wire thats causing the problem. I dont think you blew any electronics anywhere.

most likely the alarm has an ignition kill, see if you are getting 12v on the red wire to the coil, with the key in the on position if not you have to trace it back to the ignition switch to see where it is tied in to the kill switch, but anyhow you said it wouldnt start after the alarm went off? dont you have a remote to disarm it?
