Looking for L69 Exhaust Manifold
My apologies for posting here; however, I've posted repeatedly in the classifieds and the exhaust forum without success. I want L69 exhaust manifolds complete with air tubes and heat stove. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I have an L69 with the stock exhaust manifolds, and the heat stove. I removed the air tubes quite some time ago, and I have no idea where they are.
I will be upgrading in the near future, I think to a dynomax exhaust system.
Email me if you are interested.
Thank you.

Hey,
If I can't locate a complete set in a timely fashion, I might be interested.
Thanks,

I've got a set of the TPIs--the air tube inlet faces the wrong direction and there is no heat stove.
Thanks though,

hi,
JamesC, you seem to have researched this thing quite a bit.
I've got some questions for you if you don't mind. I'm getting ready to put a mild 350 in my '83 Z28. What I'd like to do (at the moment, I'm always wavering) is keep it looking totally stock.
So, I was thinking about using L69 exhaust and intake manifolds on it to help out a little. Are the L69 and TPI exhaust manifolds the same in the respect that they flow about the same? You mention that the AIR tubes have a different placement. Can LG4 or L69 AIR tubes be substituted onto TPI manifolds? or do they have different port entry locations in the manifolds themselves?
When you refer to the heat stove, that's the stainless parts that wrap around the manifold to provide hot air on a cold start, right? (the parts that the flexible ducting attach to)
Also, Do the TPI manifolds lack the EFE valve (or whatever it is) on the passenger side? I'm talking about that butterfly valve that's on my carbed lg4 between the manifold output and the y-pipe.
If TPI ones could be used and still look somewhat factory that might be an option for me. I dunno
thanks in advance for any help.

Hey, Clem,
Here's the little I know. The L69 and TPI exhaust manifolds are the same (14071200 RH and 14071188 LH). I believe all the air tubes and their placement are exactly the same as well, except that the inlet of the TPI tubes faces the rear of the motor while the carbed version faces the front. You're correct about the heat stove. There was a recent debate about whether TPI cars had the EFE valve or not--most said that TPI cars simply had a spacer in place of the valve (I know that that was true on an 86 TPI IROC that I had access to). The L69 has a larger EFE valve, of course, than the LG4. I bought one recently, so if you need the part number, let me know.

Thanks for the info.
I don't recall, can the heat stoves be removed without mutilating them? If so, Could they be ransfered from an LG4 to a TPI manifold (only on the one side as opposed to the dual ones on L69, I assume) and be made functional?
So I'll need a bigger EFE from an L69 or a spacer from a TPI car too eh? no problem I guess.
Any ideas for a source on new replacement air tubes? I'd like to replace mine but haven't looked to see if they are available from parts houses or the dealer (don't like dealer pricing
).
thanks
Clem

I've been told that swapping the heat stove would be possible, but I have no experience there (which is why I'd like a buy something intact). I'm trying to upgrade an LG4 on the cheap, so I have an L69 dual snorkel. Only the driver's side snorkel actually allows air into the air box, so I assume, the L69 manifolds only have the heat stove on that side. No help on the air tubes. I have the spacer if you want it. By the way, the EFE valve is GM part # 5234840 (my cost was $67.61).
